keep it below 5500 if you're aiming for economy
keep it above 8000 if you like low-level flight
puurrrfect quote. How true that is

actually very true
the second set of injectors open up around 5500rpms
so there goes fuel mileage
and looking at my torque curve it goes almost flat from 6500 to 9500 rpms
as soon as it hits that 3K rpm powerband you feel your arms stretch out

as far as wrists go the 1000rr isnt as aggressive on the ergos as others
if you are positioned correctly (on any sportbike really)
there should be no wrist fatigue at all it is setup so well
a little stomp grip on the tank does help though
if your wrist start to hurt it means you arent holding with your legs like you should be which happens on long straight rides
the stomp grip will keep you from sliding forward putting more weight on you wrists
cushy grips will help as well

My opinion, the R1 is the most comfortable. I bought the honda because the price was right.

I am 5'11 / 185 pds. CBR for me is quite comfortable. I had to learn to support most of my weight on my legs against the tank especially when applying the brake, that took the pressure off of my wrist...along with a bent elbow...and Heli Bars.

Other than that. Its quite comfortable. I have been on it at most about 4 hrs straight and did not feel cramped or anyhting like that when getting off.

I'd sugest sitting on it in the showroom for about an hour or so. That's what I did before purchasing mine.

I just bought a 2007 cbr 1000rr two weeks ago and I'm loving it. I'm 6'2" 195lbs and after riding for 3-4 hours I feel just as good as I did when I first got on. BTW, I got my bike at Charlotte Honda, brand new for $9,700 out the door. If that 600 is close to 9k, I say just negotiate well and get the 1k. Oh yeah, I had a copy of this in my pocket when I went to purchase and used it for leverage. Here's the URL: http://www.procycleusa.com/index.cfm?page=newvehicles
