Default HOW COMFORTABLE IS THE 1000??

I can't decide what bike to get and I'm just looking for some feedback as to how comfortable the 1000 is? I either want an R6, a CBR 600RR, or a CBR 1000RR. I was just wondering how comfortable the bike is or if it would be better to get the 600. The reason I want the 1000 is because I found a brand new 2006 CBR 1000RR for under $9000, which seems to be a very good deal! Now I know you can get a 600 for under $9000 but why not get the 1000? Let me know what you think!!

I have had my 06 1000RR for over a year and I enjoy riding it as much as possible. I have over 9600 miles on it and I ride it rain or shine. I have been on some long trips, 5 hours or more, and I will be getting a custom seat because I had a sore butt after 4 hours. I am going to a local seat maker and he will make it for my style of riding while I wait, under $200. I am not that tall, so I have to wear my riding boots to touch the ground properly. I get between 33 and 55 miles per gallon depending on how hard I ride it. Very little vibration and smooth on the corners, I do my suspension adjustments myself. I only use Pirelli tires and will not use any other brand. The R6 is a great bike, but the Honda is just made better (opinion). If your under 5'5 and weigh under 130lbs., you might consider the 600 (I'm 5'7 and weigh 170lbs.). I am pretty much sold on my 1000RR.

Yep, +1 on cbrmarshall said. Great bike been on numerours group rides that were at least 600 miles. My butt was comfortable the whole way thru. Loving it, but if you get the 04-05 you'll need to change out those seats, they upgraded with the latest versions. I remember it felt like sitting on a box on the previous models. You cant go wrong w/1000RR

I am 6 foot 5 and just did 3000 miles in 6 days. Had a great time and only had to stop to stretch when I got gas or wanted to check something out. So for a sport bike I would say its the most comfortable I have been on so far. Even more so that my brothers Buell!

Don't know how comfy the new cbr600 is but the cbr1000 is way more comfy than a R6. Your wrists will start to kill you after an hour on the R6. And your tail bone will feel a little too. The R6 is a great sexy looking bike and it screams but for longer rides and on the street you will be better off on the cbr1000. And the cbr 1000 rr has a lot more torque no need to down shift to pass someone and you go through 4 gears in city traffic, less shifting.

You will not be dissapointed in the cbr1000rr. I thought about getting another one an 06 model that was under $9k but it was too late. The R6 is lighter and more flickable but the cbr1000rr is just fine. Great bike. Go and get one and with the money you saved get the aftermarket goodies.

33 to 55 mpg, man i must be hammering it. the best i get on the freeway is about 35mpg, most of the time i get about 28mpg. As far as comfort, not to bad, might get a gel seat and some heli bars. other than that it rides like a wet dream

if your not in the red your just cruising

keep it below 5500 if you're aiming for economy
keep it above 8000 if you like low-level flight
