Default HOT SEAT? AND HIGH ENGINE TEMPS

My questions are regarding the temp under the seat, it gets pretty hot and was wondering if there is any fix for it. Also how hot will these bikes get sitting and idleing in heavy traffic conditions. I have seen 246 for temp and thats with the fan on. I do plan on replacing the seat with a Sarges unit but not sure if that will eleminate the heat from the motor under the seat. anybody have these problems and if so how did they or you fix it. Thanks
TIA Bootcamp

Yes , everyone has that problem , this bike runs hot.
I changed out the fan on mine , it seems to help. http://www.muzzys.com/fans.cfm

I might look into that. I take it that the 04-05 will fit the 06?

Granted i dont know your bikes as well, but 246 seems a bit high, shouldnt the fan kick on at about 225-227.You could also try water wetter, should bring you down about 10 degrees anyhow.

Of course if my first comment is wrong someone please correct me, i dont want to give out bad info to someone.

yes that is to hot for me and yes the fan was on, but Im stuck in traffic for 2 miles and hot summer day with no air moving across the cooler. Traffic is moving just fast enough that i cant turn it off and push by foot, but I have to clutch. Should have just cut straight up the middle of everybody and not worried about it. I just thought it was odd the a mochine that is water cooled and has a fan on it would get that stincking hot. Do these bikes have any kind of a high high temp shut off. I will order the fan tomorrow if it will make that much of a difference and for fourty bucks it couldnt hurt.
Thanks Bootcamp

I have same concerns with the 08 it getsbloody hot and I have never seen or heard the fan kick in yet even at 108 deg c. I dont know if its a problem with the fan or not. Does anyone know at what temp it should be kicking in?

Cheers

Sorry for the late post I just got back into town. I have an '06 and live in phx az. Last summer i saw 251 on a 115 degree day in traffic. This winter I repaced the factory coolant with engine ice and water wetter with good results. So far this summer all I have seen is 236 in traffic. Hope this info helps. Oh and my fan kicks on at about 222.
