Im removing my swingarm and while im doing that im gonna replace my front gear n do a 520 conversion. only problem is that i cant get the gearshift cover off cause the water pump is in the way. was wonderin if there were n e tricks in gettin this thing off w/o having to drain my radiator fluid in the process.

There are three bolts that connect the pump to the engine. If you just take them out, and not the others, you can swing the pump out of the way enough to get the cover out from behind it w/out draining coolant.

You might want to put a lil lube on the o-ring when you put it back in too. Mine was pretty dry and i didn't want to tear it. You'll see what i'm talking about when you sep it from the engine.
