Extended warrantee

Extended warrantee
I did a search and didn’t find any discussion of Extended warrantee.
I'm new to this group, but not to bikes...
Saturday I bought a 2005 1000RR with 1040 miles on it.
This morning I found out that I am actually the 3rd owner of it and the 1-year warrantee will expire the 16th of this month. The dealer quoted me $650 for a 24 month extended warrantee. I was a little taken by the price… After I said I’d have to ask my spouse if it was ok to spend another $650 on the bike, he said well I can probably do it for $550…
?? All of the sudden it’s $100 less??
So how much should one expect to pay for a warrantee?

RE: Extended warrantee
They gave me the 4 year warranty for free after I started to leave while I was looking at the bike. I wanted the OTD price to be MSRP. The best they would do was 9300 (300 over) and I wanted to go home and think it over. Before I could turn around... the warranty was included.

RE: Extended warrantee
I agree, this is my 5th CBR (and I still have my RC-51 too!) and have never used the warrantee on any of them...
I was just a little bothered to discover that I'm the 3rd owner and the warrantee expires in a week...
I put almost 300 miles on it the first day I had it and loved it with the exception of a sloppy transmission. I thought it may have been excessive chain slop, but after checking it was within reason.
A quick search of this board I saw other posts from people complaining about the same issue...
I guess the warrantee was just a thought if it was cheap enough to cover my *** if there is something wrong with it from the previous owners.
