Almost done with my extended swingarm. This is a pic with one side completed. I'll be finishing the other side shortly and then have to re-polish it. Might not be your thing but would like to get some comments on it.

who did the weld on job for u? i got the swingarm blocks but its just not long enough for me now and the thing is i havent even rode on my 54 stretched yet. its gettin painted but when i look at it now i want a 10 inch stretch cuz 4 is not far enough for me. that **** looks good btw!

 

I both Mig and Tig weld. I own a Miller 210 Mig and a Miller Syncrowave 200 Tig welder. I just got the Tig a month ago so I could make things like this swingarm at home instead of at my friends shop. I didnt use blocks on mine. I cut out the chain adjusters and tig'd some aluminum square tube to extend it, then re-affixed the chain adjusters back in on the end. I used 1/8" aluminum and was surprised that the stock arm is made of 1/16".

I just finished my paint a few days ago. It is color-changing but probably hard to tell by the picture.

I have a spare swingarm I was going to extend also. If you still want to stretch it and like how I did mine, we can probably work something out and trade arms plus a $1,000,000 j/k. Just a couple of bucks for the time is cool. I have wanted to do this for so long and had no luck ever finding one I liked which was not a bolt-on extension. So I figure others probably went through the same thing, so lets fix that and stretch the hell out of some 954's. **** I'll make a fat tire swingarm if someone gives me some dimensions.

yeah i noticed the color changin paint, it looks real good. im waitin for mine to get finished but i wont get to ride to it till around january 07 (damn iraq tour that got extended to 15 months [:@]!). i originally wanted just the blocks but after seein it and seein urs and a few others on here i want the welded job. but hey im more than willin to defenatly work somethin out wit a cash and swingarm exchange, im sure u will tell me how it holds up when u ride it. i think the fat tire swingarm would like sweet as candy on the 54, yeah screw it lets stretch the hell outta some 54's gotta start somewhere!!!!

 

I like the sound of the fat idea, its just starting riding season now, but we may have to talk in a few months when winter is setting in

 

pimpin, who are you deployed with? Where you stationed at?

 

I think it looks pretty good mine is only like 5 overi seen on the other thread that you run it 7/8 mile do you everdrag 1/4 mile

I deployed with 3ID in OIF 1. Be safe over there bro. I am a DS at Ft Gordon now.

 

I havent tried 1/4 mile yet, but Fri is midnight mayhem at the speedway, so I might try it. I have to re-gear it for 1/4 mile runs first. I'll let ya know if I do it or not.
