Default Exhaust Help

I have a 06 CBR1000RR and I am dying to buy a slip on. But my wife is being cheap and says I can’t get anything for my biketill next year. I was bored out of my mind one day and I ended up checking out videos on you tube. I came across this video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkGvVpfieRAIt’s of a guy drilling out the baffle plate in the back of his stock exhaust. So my question is this. Is this a bad idea to do this? I don’t care about my stock exhaust as I’m just going to rip it off anyway. But I do not want to hurt my bike in any way. By doing this would it hurt my engine? If anyone that knows what they are doing can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.
