Engine ping and poor acceleration

Engine ping and poor acceleration
Just wanted to see what is normal on a 07 CBR1000RR, I just bought mine a few months ago used with 4500 miles on it. It seems to ping in 1st gear when leaving a red light and stops pinging once it hits 4000 rpm, this I have read is normal. I have also noticed that it doesn't accelerate smoothly from a stop, it seems to hit a "power band" around 4000rpm but before hitting that rpm its almost sluggish. All higher rpm's everything is fine. All other bikes I have owned have not pinged, and have been smooth through the whole throttle range. Is this normal for this bike, and if not what fixes can you suggest? I am using the highest octane fuel available in my area octane 92.
Thanks.
Thanks.

well i bought my 07 brand new this feb, and i have about 4300 miles on it so far, i changed the oil 3 times so far, did it at 70 miles... 500 and 1700, and started using synthetic oil at 1700, changing my oil within the next 300 miles.... the powerband on this bikes is between 5000 and 11,000 rpms. I dont notice a ping at all, the only noise i hear is the chain at slower speeds and i have stock exhaust so i hear alot of engine noise. as for being sluggish, it depends how much throttle your giving it from the get go, i get a good launch every time and once you get your feet off the ground and clutch is fully engaged it goes, i plan on getting a pipe and power commander to give it more response.
That bike may have been abused beyond belief, improper break in, or exceeding oil change limits could all effect the engine noises you hear. Could of been ran on low oil and messed up the valve train.
thats one reason i will never buy used, you will never know the full extent of what happened to the bike no matter how sugar coated the dealer or private seller may sound. all sport bikes that are used have been beat, they are built to handle it, but its one thing to be beat and another thing to be neglected.
