Default Cooling Off

I am planning to buy a CBR1000. My friend has a CBR600 and said that he has tyo stop every 30 mintues to let the bike cool off. I am new in the field and wanted to know if this is common for all bikes (including CbR 1000)?

Honestly, does this sound at all normal to you? Of course you don't have to stop every 30 mins. It's got a radiator, coolant, thermostat, fan, the whole nine yards. I think you're buddy's bike has a problem if he needs to stop this frequently.

No way would I plunk down $11K on something that had to cool down every 30 minutes. Your friend is either ignorant of how bikes work or he's just an idiot. Sorry. Any bike from Honda will run all day long without overheating unless there's a mechanical problem.

Now go get that 1kRR and have some fun
