The biggest con of the 1000RR is also the biggest con of the 600RR, the 636, the 10R, the R1, R6, 750, 999, etc........Its the little S.O.B. sitting on it that holds it back from its full potential.

I do have to agree, but then again I don't need a ticket either since our penalities are a bit higher than in your state (SC). They don't play here in the Deep South. I normally drive out of city limits to find the backroads and scarce traveled areas to ring her out beyond the limits of getting the license back - don't we all???

This Repsol is sweet of course, but definitely attracts more attention by Mr. law-n-order I've noticed.... Having a mil ID has saved my guilty @ss more than once... wrongful use maybe, but I'd rather be lucky than good!!!

I wouldnt know what the fines are other places. I dont know what they are here. I live in the far western corner of SC. I pass cops on a regular basis going 70+ around 25-35 mph bends in the mountains. They dont even bother. They know it's a lost cause. Just cant speed through town.

I have a con of the 1000RR -- the lack of a fast idle lever. Other bikes have a fast idle lever for cold weather riding -- not the 1000RR. Crank it up and it'll frikkin idle high a hell until it warms up. I'm not a patient person -- crank, go -- badda boom badda bing -- ya know? So riding when the bike is trying to idle at 2500rpm's is just a pain.

There ... my first real complaint about the 1000RR. I feel so dirty now[:'(]

Chain, that sounds like the pros and cons of EFI in general. Can you just adjust the idle speed to your liking manually with the idle speed adjuster? I'm not trying to be sarcastic but maybe that is exactly what it is for? I really don't know what it is for specifically because I have not had a reason to adjust it except when programming my Power Commander.

Here's the thing -- my old Zooki was FI and had a lever. Basically when it's cold ya push the lever a bit, crank bike and put lever back to starting position. The Honda is all automatic -- puter does it for ya. The idle adjust **** might help a bit but as the engine warms you'd be fiddling with it to get it back right.

Another great benefit to the fast idle lever is I modified the one on my Busa and had cruise control. It'd keep my speed constant from 60-110mph. Great for long stretches when your throttle hand gets tired.

this is my forth blade and is by far the best ever Honda are top when its comes to warranty claims they never question anything my dad has worked for the big "H" all his working life 46 years at the same dealer so any problems my dad hears about them non about 04/05 blades apart from a few paint finish issues

Not enough power! NOT! [sm=drooldude.gif] Seriously, trunk space sucks, and I wish I could move the bars back just a fuzz, but otherwise this ol' fart's extremely happy!
