bike overheat

Default bike overheat

Quick question my wife rides a 07 600rr she was riding with some of my buddies and put a hole on the radiator bike overheated then she told me the temp reached 270 i almost killed her.

my question is did it hurt the bike???

i changed the radiaton and droped the oil right after it happend the bike looks and sounds fine

that isn't ttooooooo far over, you figure it is good for like 220 and i am assuming the manfacturer has some safe guards in place, if your hitting 300+ then you may have some problems. Depending on how long she drove it at 270 would make adifference too. My R6 triggered a warning light at 218, over heat light 225ish and she didn't even spew fluid till about 235-40 thats because i was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic with no fan (blown Fuse)
