You have to be careful working the rear suspension though. You could prolly adjust a 1/4 inch out of is and keep it handling right, but 3/4 may really change the handling. You could also take the seat off and take it to an upholsterer, i know they are thin but someone may be able to rework it or re pad it thinner also. At this point there are not going to be many options for you.

I have a 2006 cbr 1000 and I used an electric carving knife to smoothly cut (a wide flat area toward the front) approximately 1" off the top of the seat. The cut was made to improve the comfort of the seat , which it did. But it also lowered the rider 1". It still looks and feels great after 9 months and 8000 miles. Cost = $3 for 1/4 inch staples. There was some problem restapling the cover back on due to the hard plastic seat base. Hope this helps.

From what I've been reading and hearing...........the 08 is an amazing handling bike because Honda put millions into developing it. Throwing on a lowering link will take all that time and research that Honda put into it and throw it in the bin. One flat foot will do just fine........it'll just get a little getting used to (or tip toe).
You could shave the seat, but then you have a very uncomfortable seat for the ride only to make you comfortable at a stop light for 20-60 seconds. Which is what it really comes down to......do you want to feel comfortable at a stoplight for a minute or less with two flat feet...........or feel comfortable where you spend the most time the bike.........riding.
