Seat height??? is it too low?
Well as you know im rebuilding my 900RR, one problem i had with it was height im 5"8 and i was having a hard time keeping this bad boy afloat, even dropped it once cause i didnt get my foot down in time and leaned to much to my right. So after reading the dos and donts of lowering i decieded to give it a shot, what the hell right? Well i got the lowering links off ebay, the ones that are either 1" or 3" drop. i only dropped it 1" cause i didnt need it that much. Well after taking the bike down off my bench i adjusted the front so it would run even, but DAM it seems way to low now? my seat height is 29, 1/2 inches??? is this right for only dropping it an 1" or did it really get dropped to much?? tire clearence from top of tire to inside fender is 4.5 inches. Can some one help me out i mean i do plan on riding my 100lb wife around on this thing and id hate for it to bottom out... Any pointers on this?? anyone else lower thier bike?

RE: Seat height??? is it too low?
After looking into it, i think he might have had the original links on incorectly, i mean for me it seems way to low now, and it did handle like **** before,im goin to have to play around with the combos on it but for the back seat to be perfectly stright! somethings a miss some wheres, but like i said it seemed way to high before so maybe this is 1 inch lower then stock and maybe i was too high on it before due to someone hooking up the link wrong, who knows. Any one use lowering link? and have a pic of your bike?

I don't think it matters how tall you are, but more how long your legs are. I bought a corbin seat, and it seems about an inch lower. My input would be don't lower it unless you absolutely have to. Grab a corbin or shave your stock one. Lowering a bike opens up a can o worms IMO

I worked it out with the suspention, took a bit of measuring and alot of reading to figure out the right suspention set up, i went down 1.25 in the rear and .75 in the front, keeping the same geometery i had before, I will have to give it a test roll once the weather changes then ill check the handling and cornering clearence seems fine for serious cornering.
