I am having the same problem with my 600rr. I also end up having to jump my bike with my car. It starts up perfect every time when I jump it. I have to get my battery tested. When I go riding I bring jumper cables just incase and just leave the seat unscrewed. I went for a 2hour ride on my bike and it barely charged the battery.

So I finally got around to getting a digital VOM from the neighbor who got the battery for me. The day before I had ridden out to my g/f's parents house and her dad was looking at the bike for me and put a charger on it for about 45 mins. It started right up, road it home and the next day the neighbor came over with a new battery to replace it, we checked the volts on the batt and it was around 13v. It then surprisingly started without jumping it or push starting it and we checked the cables to the battery they were getting a little over 14v's so I think my charging system is okay? Im as confused as ever I guess the only thing I can think of is that my neighbors charger sucks and never really charged the battery at first and since my g/fs dad put it on a good charger it finally charged it up enough? I still don't get why my bike wouldn't have charged it after riding it for about an hr straight tho?

Well my problem wasn't the stator or regulator. It was the battery. I bought a new one up at the local dealer for around 90$ (OEM replacement). You have to get the battery charged before you just drop it in too. Batteries sitting on a shelf do not retain their charge. The dealer threw my battery on the charger for about 1hr, altho they suggested 2hrs. I wanted my bike before they closed.

So I charged my battery with a different batt charger trickle charged it over night. Bike started 2 days in a row no problem but i didn't really ride it those two days just let it run for awhile. 3rd day didnt have quite enough juice to turn it over. So either this new battery can't hold a charge for long or something on my bike is draining it..? Err so irritating!

So I took my battery to autozone to have it checked, test said it was a bad battery. My only concern was that the battery was not charged but the guy told me that it didn't matter the tester could tell that it had a bad cell. Anyone know if that's true, you can test a battery like that even if its not charged and it can tell if its a bad battery?
