I own a 02 954rr now but have a chance to get a 05 1000rr for pretty well no extra cost after selling my 54. Has anyone owned these two bikes? If so how is the 1000rr compaired to the 954rr?

I own the 954 and have ridden my friends 06 1000 a few times, personally i would not. My 9 feels more comfortable, and lighter, as in easier to throw around. Again its just opinion though, i would ride one yourself if you can and see what you like.

 

I went from an 02 954 to the 05 Repsol... I like both bikes. The 954 felt like it had more torque but the 1k feels outright faster through most situations. Honestly, you gotta ride both of them for a few hours before you make your mind up. I'm getting another 954 one day in life that's for sure.

 

I changed from 02 954 to 05 Repsol as well,never really looked back but liked the 954.It had more character than my repsol but not as fast.I'm now thinking of changing to 08 but love my Repsol.I would agree with above answers.
