After fixing mine almost 2 years ago and fighting with HONDA this is what i got in the mail today!!

The stator on my '07 Repsol died after only 2 months, leaving my bike dead up in the Mtns on a Sunday afternoon.

 

do you thinkthe 06 will have the same problem. i hope not thats a recall for you day later dollar short

 

Not sure. But my buddy has an '06 and his stator died too. Mechanically, the 06 is the same as the 07.

 

The paper i got says 04 and 05 so I'm not sure.

The letter you got is the same letter I got, and it is not a recall. It is an extended warranty on the charging system. That is all. They will not change out your stator if they do not find any problem with it. Read my post at https://cbrforum.com/m_307066/tm.htm.

 

I just got the papers on my desk at my shop on Tuesday. Its only for a certain V.I.N. range. Ther is also a warrenty extension if your bike is one of the effected.

just out of curiousity why didnt you just push start it in 1st gear?

 

Take the battery out of your bike and try to push start it.
It would have the same effect as what he went through.
