Can some one tell me exactly what this is and what it does? The guy at FuelMoto that I bought my Power Commader and pipe from said it wasn't realy necessary for the 1000RR because it has so much better and crisper throttle responce than the other liter bikes. But I told him to turn it on anyway because I read here on the forum that it did improve the perfomance. I can't imagine how it could get any better though. My parts won't be here for 3 or 4 more days so I willl have to wait and see.
It will be like Christmas morning. My buddy at work was building a race car and he would never work late cause he would always say that he had parts comin. Now I know the feelin and its really cool. Does anybody else get as excited as I do about new bike parts? I am sure you all do. My wife hates it though. Says I am a spoiled brat. Can't argue with that.







2005 Repsol CBR1000RR

 

It keeps the A/F ratio from spiking lean when the throttle is abruptly opened.
When the throttle is opened rapidly there is some interpolation of the map values by the ECU and it cannot match the fuel to the volume of air rushing past the butterflies.
This is a tool that helps alleviate this condition.

And yes , I love new bike parts also.

 

I turned on the accelerator pump mod and used the recommended street settings. I thought reduced performance. Specifically it seemed to reduce the mid range power and made doing power wheelies harder. For now I turned the off until I can find time to play with it. Be advised I have an o5 600RR and it might not get as much benefit from the AP mod as the 1000RR.

My wife is very tolerant with my accessory obsession. I also like the feeling knowing I have a cool mod coming in the mail. In fact today I am expecting my Puig smoked windscreen that they just released for the 05 600RR. Whoo Hhoo! After I have it installed I will finally post some pics.

 

I am also using the street setting that someone suggested and I feel that I have more response throttle wise. I did notice that my MPG did go down though.
