I turned 40 on April 2nd took the MSF class on April 5&6th. I looked high and low, researched and talked to friends that have bikes. I settled on a 2008 Candy Apple Red CBR1000. This is my first bike and I love riding it. I came home from Iraq to celebrate my little girls BD and mine. My wife told me not to get it. I was alone with my little and told her that I really wanted a bike what should I do.......she said buy it. But if I got one she wanted one too. I rode for 3 days before I had to come back and I put 300 miles on it. If anyone can tell me which is the best looking undertail for it let me know. I have ASV levers and gel grips coming in for it. There is nothing like riding a large liter bike.....nothing!

Sorry guys. I misquoted my mph for 3rd gear roll-ons. Bike sets down at about 130+ when it runs out of rpm's. Please forgive my overexcitement. But 3rd gear roll-ons make me feel 20 years old again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

41 here. 3rd Honda now going back to an '88 Hurricane 1000 while serving at Ft. Carson , CO years ago. Have an '03 919 that serves as the road bike and recently sold an '01 GSX-R600 trackbike and picked up an '08 1000RR (yellow and black) to replace it. Enjoying some road time on it now before it gets its track plastics put on. I really love my 919 for it's utilitarian, do it all reasonably well design, but this thing is just an absolute sled. A joy to ride. Hope to post here often and get as much info as I can on this bike, which has had the clutch recall. Cheers!

Well, I'm almost there in age and cc's. I'll be 39 in a couple months and am on a CBR600.

42 here too. Don't go the cruiser route man, go check out a Speed Triple or a Tuono very fun bikes with more of an upright position.
