Just traded my '06 HD Ultra Classic Electraglide for an '08 CBR 1000rr. I did this after buying an '06 Kawasaki Ninja 500r, my first crotch rocket...ever. It was supposed to be just to ride back and forth to work, but it was so much fun I decided to trade for a bigger sport bike. After concluding all my research I decided to get the '08 CBR 1000rr. By the way, I'll turn 52 in October.

I feel sooooo much better now. My mom asked me if I was going thru a mid-life crisis when I FINALLY bought my first bike for my 31st anniversary. I can't forsee stopping anytime soon.

Ok. To all those oldies out there that have been riding for a long time....How many of you have Tinitus (ringing in the ear)? I've been riding for over 20 years now and as a youngin, I never wore earplugs. Do now, but a little too late. I was reminded of this with an article in Sport Rider about ear plugs and some of the responses of some people about the ringing in their ears...
That is a good question. I've been wearing ear plugs for years when riding street bikes. No long term ringing here, thankfully. Riding offroad is another story. Our race team communicated via helmet mounted radios making it very difficult to do so with ear plugs. Ialways notice short termhearing issuesafter rides or races.I'm sure it will have an impact when I get old... er. [sm=headbang.gif]
Oh yeah43 yearshere.

Right here Brother, 41 in June. Picked me up a 07' 1000RR last June for my Birthday, best thing I ever did! My last rocket was a Suzuki GSXR750 back in 1988. I traded it in for a TRX250R because I kept losing my Licence. So I went all this time because I was afraid to get in trouble, but the whole time I've had the shakes so I finally broke down and got one. I've found myself again, if I could get that thing through the snow and in to my bedroom I'd be Humping it right now! haha, only serious.
Oh, 3 years ago I did manage to try my luck on a 86' VMax. Yeah it was ballsy and all that and you could drift it in first making a turn and get it to come up when shifting into 2nd, but it wasn't me, I felt like a Dork sitting up straight like that. it was comfortable though!
So I'm up here in NH going nuts with all this snow, can not wait to get riding again. trying to trim some weight off the thing (and myself!) and doing this and that to it, she's looking good.
This is my first post, I getta figure out how to get pictures on here. I think I getta click the landscape thingy...I don't know, I'll figure it out I guess.

Aint that somethin! I remember back in 1995, I had a 86 GSXR and did wheelies all day long. one day I'm at home and hear this bike going back and forth in front of the house. the neighbors had a Friend visiting on a bike doing wheelies back and forth. so I went out and stopped him. I said "HEY...DO SOMETHING TO IMPRESS ME WILL YOU!" he says OK! he goes up, turns around, and goes by me in a wheelie like your Buddy...legs over the windsheild, my jaw fell to the F N ground...I CLAPPED, I clapped for a long timeand walked back into the house shaking my head in disbelief. he was on a CBR600, never spun the wheel or anything, couldn't believe it. and now it's commonplace for these sick bastards. I'll stick to my NORMAL wheelies thank you!
