Oh yeah, let us know if there really is a throttle lag problem. 2nd gear at 5500 rpms punch it. See if it lags.

The 2008 doesn't have the lag problem. That was solved through the ECU, and is easily and cheaply fixed on the 07.

AWJOHNSTON, the R1 is going to float my boat. I bought it Saturday. I doubt I will be back on here to say you're right. Not knocking the Honda, I am a big Honda fan since owning my 2002 954RR. But common, any of the 4 1000's are going to make the average rider very happy. One doesn't blow away the other - not even close. From the sound of your buying and selling, jumping from one bike to the other, nothing will make you happy.

I will be back on for sure to post when I finally get on the road with it. I will be able to feed back on how it is versus my 954RR anyway - which I loved.

pick up a cycle trader. i did and bought my 07 cbr1krr for $8999.00. at state 8 cycles in ohio. cost me 250 to drive to ohio fron tenn. to pick it up, but saved a ton on a brand new 0 mile bike. i have always loved cbr's, but was iffy about new styling on 08 so went with 07.
