Default 2007 or 2008 CBR1000rr?

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and will be purchasing a new bike soon. I was wondering what I should do. The 2007 model looks nicer to me but is the 08 really that much better? Do you guys thing the 08 style and new technology integrated into it might have issues at first? I need help deciding what I should do. Can you guys help? Thanks in advance.

From what I've read, watched and people I've talked with..............the 2008 1000RR is one of the best handling liter-bikes out there. And from the couple of guys that have ridden one, they compare the differences as similar to the differences between the 06 and 07 600RR's (which I can personally attest to being night and day in my own experiences)

I just can stand the way they styled it........

+10000 agreed.

you really have to get used to this bike to like the look, and i'm still not liking the style.. but from performance wise, i heard it's the best liter out right now.

I read all those articles. It's just such a ugly bike. Is there really that big of a difference between the 07 and 08 except one is ugly and the other is not? I'm thinking the 07 because it looks better to me. Will cost me less from dealer. But also I know it wont have any problems because the bike has stayed the same for a while and they have had time to fix the bugs. I just really hate the fact that I'm going to be behind the times sort of speak because of the new 08 redesign. What do you guys think about all this?

I would say go for the '08. The looks won't matter in a season or two, when all the other manufacturers do their redesigning. Not saying they will go the same route Honda did, but you should see some changes in the next 2-3 seasons.

I would buy the 08, if I could swing it finacially. The looks are growing on me. I could not stand it when Ihad first seenit in an article. Then I saw it at the bike show and seeing it in person really helped change my mind. Now I walk past them 2-3 times a week at the local dealer and am really starting to like them.

I think a ton of bikes are ugly until you get used to them - I even think the same thing about cars honestly. At first I didn't like the redesign of the corvette in '05 but now that I've done more research and have seen them on the road it's now my 2nd favorite body style (can't beat the '69 stingray).

My vote is go with the '08 - Performance is more important than looks, and looks can be modified / manipulated a lot easier (and usually cheaper) than performance...

Financially I was thinking the 2007 but I was willing to spring for the 08 but I just don't know. Thestyle will probably grow on me. I think it's kinda starting to but it will be a year before I'm really loving it. I rode a 2000 ZX6 for a really long time before I decided it was time for an upgrade. CBR1000RR got all the best reviews so instead of going with another kawi, I decided to go with a honda. What do you think is a good out the door price from the dealer on the 2007? it's brand new an both dealers have one left. I'm in arizona and I'm not seeing the new bikes on the rode like I used to. I'm curious to know how much wiggle room I have with them. And anyone here buy an 08 yet? If so what did you pay for it?
