Yeah, Honda usually changes very little in their models from year to year. In fact, I was surprised that they changed the body work on the 1000RR for 2006. Looks like the 2007 models are essentially the same as the 2006 models. They will go for a couple/few years without much change, then there is a quantum leap in evolution. I guess Honda just gets it right the first time and doesn't need to change anything until new advances are ready to hit the streets.

i love honbda as much as a man can love an inanimate object but they need to do something with the new bikes that they are producing.. im not knocking the comapny i love but when the only new things to report about are a black painted swing arm and new colors, its time to put a little more money into r&d....... but irregardless when the 2008 or 2009 cbr1000rr comes out i will be buying one asap i know that much lol

Actually, one of my favorite things about Honda is that they don't change very much from year to year. It makes getting used parts for older bikes much easier. I have a 1987 Honda TRX250R, the most famous racing quad ever made, but the Honda only made them for 4 years...86-89. Fortunately they sold over 500,000 units and they basically kept the same design for all 4 years, so finding used machines is still fairly easy. In fact, they even used the same engine as the 1985 ATC250R. So naturally when I came across an old ATC250R rotting away in some guys back yard, I offered him a couple hundred bucks just so I could yank the engine out for spare parts.
Anywho, I was somewhat surprised at the cosmetic changes in the 1000RR for the 2006 year models. Honda only ran the original design for 2 years before changing, and apparently the new plastics won't fit the 2004-2005 models without significant modifications. Seems like an odd move to me, but it could be that they just have too many engineers trying to justify their existence.
Regardless, you can't fly until you have wings.......RIDE RED!
