I have an 07, buddy bought an 08. After riding both, I don't regret my choice. The 08 is an amazing machine, love the slipper clutch, and handles like a dream

However, the 07 feels faster, the power comes on a lot harder, still handles very well, and looks much better.

To all you crazy asses saying the 06 is better in anyway, shape or form, your nuts! Had an 04 then an 07 and now the 08. I can tell you this, if you want the better bike the 08 is faster, lighter, more agile and easier to ride. For you who have not rode both bikes, your input is irrelevant.

Will an 06 pull tha wheel off tha ground and raise it up high and proud at 130+ just by rollin tha throttle on!!!!!!!! And I don't mean chopping it then hammering it either. Or popping the clutch! In bone stock form? No mods? My 08 is freakin wicked!!!!!!!! I've ridden 04's and 06's. these bikes are fast, but the 08 is a step above. Light-weight and major hp and tourqe sooner in the rev range than any other liter bike ever!!!!!!!!! To quote SUPPER STREETBIKE MAG, "the most manic, freakishly fast literbike ever produced". "Best stock bike of 08".

Sorry guys, I got my MPH wrong on the 3rd gear roll on. I went out to do play, and found that at 130+ is when the bike runs out of RPM and sets the bike down. But 3rd gear roll-ons are so cool!!!!!! Please fogive my misquote. "RROGH" (Ride Red Or Go Home)!!!!!!!!!

06 CBR1000RR = great bike, feels and handles like a 1000cc bike with with very manageable smooth power which is almost boring to a point.

08 CBR1000RR = excellent bike, feels and handles like a 600cc with power that kick you in the nuts and makes you want to ride it like you stole it.

I never had an 06 but I had an 05 and to me it's not even a fair comparison. The 08 is the better machine in just about every way except maybe looks. I'm still on the fence with that one. The 06 looks huge sitting next to the 08 but I like the bigger beefy look. But the tail section on the 08 is pure sex..

I doubt I would get a good trade in price-or deal on a new one but thanks for the input.
