When I was in tampa it was pretty straight and flat so? The closest track is 200 miles from where I am, and actinglike a track rider on the street will just get you ****ed up sooner or later.And if someone is making a left turn in front of you-slow down let them turn and then you'll see the pot hole, don't need to be very track focused to do that.If you want to ride like a squid on the street that extra handling may be worth it if your around long enough to enjoy it, make a mistake on the track aleast it won't be in front of a truck-If you really do track days. Yeah, and I do know the 1000RR is race ready and designed for the track.

 

I wasn't comparing the two I just implied that having my 06 and paying it off and having spent extra money on modifications it would not be worth it to me to try and sell my bike or trade it in and take on the added debt for just the lastest and greated thats all I started thisthread for,to get feedback on the new bike and find out if anyone though that yes indeed the new 08 is that great and worth getting but this whole thread has gotten ****ed up because everyone takes everything out of context or interpret it differently to say the least. Handling is pretty important actually. Whether you ride twisties or not, it just inspires confidence and more comfortable feeling.

I had to debate between the 08 and the 06. almost bought the 08 here is what I readand my decision. Here is what I was told from a few people who have both the 06 and the 08. 06-07= better street bike, 08= better track bike. they said that any decent rider can get on an 08 and do better at the track but the 06-07 behave better than the 08's on the street.... My decision and Why. I traded in my 929, I almost signed on the 08 but didnt because the 06 looked better to me, the 06 had Hotbodie Flushmounts, Tinted windscreen, slip on, frame sliders, tank pad, and aftermarket passanger seat. They didnt have the 08 in the color I wanted, and I would have put exhaust and all of the above on it, it would have cost 2100 more, and the wife wasnt comfortable with her job situation so Iwent with the 06 and I love it, and it turns out Im the one who got demoted for a bull**** reason on friday so Im glad I went with the lower payment

I'll concede that the 08 is better overall, but I'm sticking with my 06. It's still an awesome ride!

 

ive been riding for over ten years and i think id be happy on any liter bike i get on. for that matter, any year model (05,06,07,08)

 

owning the 06 and 08 with very similar mods, i will take the 08 any day of the week. this is one awesome flucking machine!
