06 GSXR 750 vs. CBR 1000 FireBlade
My buddy has an 06 750, pcIII, Micron GP pipe, BMC filter, sprockets, and front end strapped. He keeps saying he runs down liter bikes. Told me he raced a 06 cbr 1K from dead stop and won by 4 or 5 bikes to 140? What do you guys think. I have an 06 black fireblade, totally stock. I went to track and saw same 06 runnin 10.02 in 1/4 bone STOCK. Best he did strapped was 10.45.

As I said in other posts. It's the rider and the ***** in his or her pants.
I believe your buddy with the 06 750 did beat the guy. It takes alot to ride these bikes to potential, they are very fast bikes period. Mods or no Mods.
Especially when riding on the street and not a closed track. Your fear of Dying is going to take over your wrist control.
Straight up on a closed circuit. The 750 shouldn't beat the 1K.
The answer is right in your paragraph, look at his time compared to the 1K's at the track................... No fear factor involv!ed!

+1 On what baxson said....................
Now If you got the ***** to really handle the blade then you will eat your friend BUT if your not 100% and your friend is really good rider you will lose???
On the street, it really is bout ***** and skill, as these modern bikes are over powered for the street and alot of them, including mine hardley get their full potential used on the street...[8D]

RE: 06 GSXR 750 vs. CBR 1000 FireBlade
dyno chart at www.rooracing.com shows a piped and mapped 05 750 at 130 hp
thats only 8 less than my 06 blade dynod stock using a notorious low reading dyno
i am going today to see what it does after all the mods
granted it also shows the stock map at about 115
so the potential is there for a litre bike killer but stock for stock
there is no way

Sorry, Normally i would agree with you baxsom but this time you are trying to compare a modded bike to a standard bike...
You cant say potential to be a litre killer... . Modded 750 would still lose to a standard 1k anyway, but the point is you have to compare stock to stock or Modded to Modded not modded to stock......? Anybike with money thrown at it, will preform better than a stock, so make the fight fair!
ie,
Standard GSXR750 K5 115.0hp
Standard CBR1000 06' 152.2hp
Modded GSXR750 k5 130.0hp
Modded CBR1000 06' 169.5hp
Fair is fair.......?

RE: 06 GSXR 750 vs. CBR 1000 FireBlade
i dont know where you are getting 169 for a modded blade
but those must be some mods
i just had mine dynoed today and even with all the mods I have done to mine it only did 145
the dyno operator said that the map was spot on as well
short of a full system and HRC airduct i have done pretty much all you can without engine work
all i am saying is dont think that every new 750 out there will be an easy kill especially if you have a stock bike
