i have a 05 about 11k on it and it wont start....its primes when it wants too and when it does prime it wont turnover ....kickstand switch is good ...kill swich is good. had some problem in the past with priming and change the knock sensor please help

There are only a few things that will control the fuel pump priming. the killswitch, the bank angle sensor (located in the middle of the headlight bucket), or the fuel stop relay. The kickstand switch won't prevent the fuel pump from priming. It will only prevent the bikes engine from starting if the transmission is not in neutral.

I would check the mini-harness that leads to your headlight and gauge pod. They can sometimes become corroded at the connectors. Pull them apart and make sure to put some dielctric grease on the connectors before you plug it back in.

If the bike has been in any type of accident, take a close look at the bank angle sensor. unmount it and you should be able to tip it side to side and go nearly horizontal with it before it cuts power to the fuel pump.

if you can offer a bit more history about the bike, such as damage, modifications, when this started to happen...ect . I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

 

i have exhaust ...hid's headlight it was dropped years back custom paint had to remove nose for that maybe then it messed with the functions of the sensor ...i dont kno im stomped ...now its priming and still wont kick over

 

when you say "kickover", do you mean the engine cranks but the bike won't start? or the engine doesn't do anything when you hit the starter button?
