Default 04 1000RR oil leak

I have a 2004 Honda CBR 1000RR that is leaking a lot of oil out the top left side of the engine after the oil is hot. I think its coming out the valve cover from a leak in the gasket. Is replacing the gasket a DIY project or should it be taken to the a mechanic. About how much time would it take to replace.

Interesting. Has the bike been down?
It sounds like it might be the left crankcase cover... Can you take a pic of it? And how much is a lot of oil?

Depends on how experienced you are working on bikes. Its not horribly difficult to actually replace the gasket, its removing everything to get to the gasket and get the valve cover out of the frame thats fun.
