Default @005 CRB1000RR wont start.

I got a 05 1000RR in april used with low miles(like 2500). Had it since then and put anouther 2000 on it with regular mainance and all that. Already had it bake cause it wouldn't charge the battery. Replaced the genirator under warrinty. Now it wont start but only at random... Took it to the dealer and they said I would have to wait tell the 23 for them to get it in. When it wont start it is still getting spark and will fire if you give it a shot of ether. It does have a PCIII and a erion exhaust and K&N all installed by me and ran great after install(a week after I got it). Any ideas?

i'm new to motorcycles, so i'm not sure but here's what i think.

not sure about this, but my cousin accidentally, put 87 octaine. now, it's having problem starting. i think, he just gotta burn all that 87 octaine then fill it up with 91. happened the same thing with my friend's ducati. kinda sad.

how good is your battery? my friend's battery died a couple of times already, when he uses the bike like twice or 3times a week.

Could be the fuel pump going bad. When you turn the key do you always hear the fuel pump turn on? When you spray the ether in there will it continue running or will it shut off after the ether is burned up?

when it doesnt start do you mean nothing happens period or do you mean that the motor kicks over but doesnt turn

the first thing to do with a no start if you have a powercommander is to take the PC off and try to start it, sometimes these things burn out.

(you already checked the kill switch right)

then check the fuel pump

with the kill switch to on turn the key
you should hear the fuel pump kick on
if no pump check fuse then check to make sure you are getting power to the fuel pump (simple multimeter)

if pump is ok then check starter relay, does it click when you push the starter button

if it clicks then the starter relay is good

if it doesnt click get a rubber handle pair of pliers, turn the key on and use the pliers to jump the terminals on the starter relay
if bike starts it is the starter switch (personal experience)

if even that wont start the bike then the starter relay is bad

if motor turns but doesnt crank (and the kill switch is on and good)

then smell the exhaust, if it smells like gas then it means you arent getting spark

The bike turns over fine it just wont start. after i spray it with ether it fires right up and will continue running. I will try taking the PC off and see what that does. if the PC went bad will they warrenty it at powercommander? The dealer said that it may be the fuel pump too, but i didn't think it would run then at all.

the fuel pump is easy
when you turn the key do you hear a buzzing for about 3 seconds

if not (and the kill switch is on) then the fuel pump is bad

Ok, when I turn the key on I can hear the fuel pump spinning. The bike fires some times and some times I got to hit it with ether. Do I have to completely remove the PCIII or can I just pull the power to it? The PCIII would also explain why it seems down on power lately and soft on bottom but still strong on to and why i seem to be running a little rich...

Are you sure you connected the PCIII to the right injectors? I understand that this is a common mistake:

"It's been determined that the installation instructions for the Power Command III (hereby referred to as PCIII) are not clear as to which set of fuel injectors the unit should be connected to. The 1000RR has two sets of injectors, a lower set and an upper set. The lower set are the main injectors, while the upper set come in to play at higher RPMs. The PCIII installation instructions make it appear that the unit should be connected to the upper injectors. This is WRONG. I post this information on my site as this is a VERY common mistake. The lower injectors are more difficult to reach so if your PCIII was a cinch to hook up, you'll probably want to check to make sure you used the correct injector connections. The PRIMARY injectors in the image below are the lower injectors and are the correct ones to hook up your PCIII to."
