Man my bike has been doing the Sluggish feeling under 3k rpms..but only when it cold..like 30-45..also been really damp..i changted the plus and well...it has a more power feeling but still a li issue of starting too...but like i said the plugs are changed..feels good.

Batteries don't like cold weather, and that's probably it, but I'd check the charging rate at the battery - 13,5-15.5 volts@3500 revs. Less than 13 and you have a stator or regulator/rectifier problem.
Hurricanes don't like to run properly below 3000 rpm anyway.....!!

That's a good quote there, Shadow. Very nice. So far I've just been trying to get parts accumulated before I actually start work on the bike as I don't have a garage to stow it in. But the advice has been awesome, not to mention the pics and everything else you guys have said. As near as I can tell, however, there's no black goo dripping from my reg/rec as of right now. Hopefully that's a good sign. Sorry about being so long in responding as well, it's hit or miss when I can get online. I don't have a computer at my house anymore, and beggars can't be choosers. But I'll definitely be keeping in touch with everyone as to how the repairs go. Hopefully with good news next time.

anybody know if I can use the regulator from a 600 on my 1000?

The CBR 600R reg fits the VFR 700/750R, not the early CBR1000F I think.
If I had a part number I could research it for you fully.
