Who has a 1000F that runs GREAT?
I just bought my 93 this past July. With the exception of almost stranding me due to a dry battery(my fault-in my "going over it" of all things I didnt check it
) she is just fantastic to ride. Starts and ready to roll anytime. I'll find out soon, but I STILL dont know what happens after 7K RPM. This is an amazing bike...I have started another love affair....
I've had a few problems with mine, as most of you know, but in fairness to the bike
* I probably caused my reg/rec problems myself by not checking the battery, and having the problem diagnosed in the first place.
* I should have fitted a new CCT instead of being cheap and just replacing the camchain (expensive in the longrun)
* Replaced damper at 77000 odd kilo's which is really to be expected.
* I have a slight primary chain rattle now, but will be sorted out when I do the carb sync in a day or two (been raining here for 3 days)
Aside from these issues the bike has been a joy.
She starts, she runs, she flies...................
I often just stand and look at her.........................

Mine has run without a problem since I bought it new in May of '87. Other than the first week after I took it out of storage and hadn't cleaned the carbs in 13 years. Oh, and other than needing a jet kit when I put a V&H header on it.
Other than very routine maintenance (oil and filters, brakes, carb adjustments) it has pulled like a freight train and always starts right up.
33,000 kms and counting.
Dragon, I'm impressed with the miles you're putting on, mate.

They are Kms but nevertheless , when we go for an outing during the weekends it is almost always 300 to 400kms a shot.... so they pile up very quickly, during summer my car feels so aloooooooooooooooone!
One weekend we did 1100kms

Howdy, Mattski!
Welcome back to CBRF!

Glad to hear you had a good run.. well, except for the bee sting and all...
I had one get me on the leg and in the neck this year, too. It distracts the chit out of you, doesn't it? lol..
BTW,
If you get a chance, stop by the ride of the month voting thread (link in my sigline) and vote for our CBR1000F man Hawkwind. He could use the vote, and we're trying to get as many of the guys here to chip in as we can.

Yep yep...my '94 runs like a top fo sho. I do have to admit to a caveat, but it's 100% my fault. When I had the bike apart over the winter I didn't drain the carbs, so I'm idling on 3 cyl at the moment. I'll be cleaning out that idle circuit over this winter. Apart from that it couldn't be better.
