Its the low end that has improved. It use to stumble like a 2-stroke loading up, on take. It was way to lean. Ethanol requires 15% more fuel flow. 10% E in the fuel and with the bike already running lean from the factory to meet emissions, the K&N and TB was a tad bit to open to run with stock jetting.

I can't say for sure about the top end but the re-jetting and stick coils make her pull extremely hard all the way from idle to red.

Default mixture adjustment

hey all! i just read the fsm pilot screw adjustment info and it says the idle mix (pilot) screws are factory set and no adjustment can be done without replacement. is that true? if not, does the D tool that comes with the Carbjets.com kit work. ive replaced the pilot jets previously (clogged) but didnt remove the carbs so im not yet familiar with the mix screws.
u out there TimBT? u said u had a take off stumble and were too lean, but my bike runs perfect with the mods. was thinking about changing jets only to see if i could get her richer/cooler with more power. i certainly dont want it run worse and waste my time, but i cant seem to get my mind off the thought of trying, paranoid its running too lean or that i can improve the throttle response from factory lean. as we talked before i was thinking using the suggested increase of the mains to 130 (i know u have 135's) and 42 pilots. guess i can only answer my own questions by doin it, but i dont have a synch tool or a tach and im paranoid.

The 'D' shaped tool works. They are adjustable with that tool.

After changing the jets I checked the balance and they were spot on. It seams that if you do the same thing to all carbs equally, they stay synced. after all, its the opening of the butterfly that make the difference, if you don't play with them they should stay synced.

130/42 should work OK but the 135/45 I know for a fact works great. My MPG is the same as before I re-jetted and it screams in all RPM's. Cold starting is much better with the set-up also.

The shims are the adjustments.
