These are the mods that are done on my 87 Cane. The front wheel, bearings, seals, spacers and brake rotors are 1991. Rear wheel, bearings, seals, spacers, brake caliper, brake pads, caliper braket and brake rotor are 1991. The swing arm is the 1987 modified to fit the 1991 rear brakes. sprocket cover plate with speedometer cable are 1991 moved from front wheel. Front fender is 2001. Lowered the front forks 1.5 inches. Added bypass fan switch. The rims are powder coated and polished. The rear turn signals have been removed and added to rear light. Added 2 white leds for licence plate. Post Added quick cheap center nut GPS ball mount

Added this Garmin / Tom Tom mount

Here's where you get them.

"Staples" has em is the US too.....but whole kit is $19

Pull your center cap drill tiny hole and back out existing screw in
ball mount put small washer at back of center cap and reattach
with longer screw if you have it.

Easy fast cheap .......I use a Garmin Nuvi 885T which has a 4 hour battery

would do .........but this particular Garmin has a radio transceiver in the
power plug that's feeds MSNDirect info such as news feeds, POI's & Real Time Traffic
Data etc into the GPS..............only thing it don't do is buy me a
round down at the pub.......the 885T......has all the whistles and then some
Tells ya where the nearest petrol station is ........all voice and bluetooth

Anyhow in summary the power cord has to be exposed for it to receive
signal ..........maybe I could velcro it in up under the fairing .....huh we'll see.

I did this - 6.5 hours - stripped the rear wheel, replaced bearings, replaced the chain, replaced rear brake pads, resprayed swingarm....new front and rear sprockets etc.
It runs as smooth as a baby's bum !
