Thanks!

Yes she ( the new one) runs pretty smooth, but i must admit that the old one runs better at idle when cold, also the nexxus exhaust makes better sound
The gearbox on 96 model makes a lot louder noise when switching the first gear while standing, I hope it's not a sign of forthcoming problem:S but all in all is seems pretty neat bike, no repairing on fairings and shows 30000 miles on odometer so not too bad.
Anyway all together I love them both but yes, to keep both of them is a bit expensive.

P.S. the dual braking system - I really haven't figured it out yet - Do anybody know any good tricks to test is it actually working?

Ow and its so nice that You guys are still active here and still ride hurricanes - those are really good bikes

I know mine is working cause I applied too much foot pressure before grabbing front brakes yesterday, and I felt the front dip down. Was kinda wierd.

Try getting it up on the centre stand, get someone to spin rear wheel and apply front brake reverse method for the front wheel. Or on centre stand, pop it in gear so the rear spins and apply front break again?

Yes I thought about the center stand also, but in my idea the back brake is stuck all together, haven't got time to check it closely but probably easy fix and caused by some rust.

well over the weekend I JB welded the the top of the alt back on, and let her set for a full 24 for full strength. So far so good(200+ miles), still gonna have Tom mail me out the replacement(peace of mind), and once its in gonna swap it out. Then since I had some left over JB weld I patched the 2 holes in the exhaust as another temp fix till my buddy can help weld it. Then today on my ride home for lunch I noticed I had a coolent leak, turned out to be the T connector. So I plastic welded that back together and all better now! Nice day to be riding.

My '90 Cane had developed a fuel leak between #1 & #2 carbs.
Turns out that the 2" long 3/8" Inside Diameter Fuel Hose between the 2 T fittings was pinched at 45 degrees and over 21 years had split on the inner edge of the bend.

A quick trip to the local auto parts store and $3.00 later (of course lifting the Carbs up) and I'm back on the road!

Well I pull the carburetors off the 1000F again to clean them. I had cleaned them last summer, but wasn't happy with how they were working. There was a noticeable hesitation just off idle, say between 2k and 3k rpm. I was lazy and didn't want to pull them off again. I figured that the Bypass ports were probably still plugged from having let it sit so long in the first place. This past fall I picked up a Ultrasonic Cleaner that I've been using with my other bikes carburetors. Well, it just goes to show you that the devil is in the details. Getting those tiny holes spotlessly cleaned with that cleaner has made all the difference in the world. The throttle response is as good as it's ever been . I keep forgetting how long and hard she pulls when riding.

The current stable...
