That was my understanding ... but don't rely on my answer .... I'd give Sandy Bike Spares a ring to make sure. Maybe someone far more knowledgable than me can confirm or tell me I'm wrong?

I understand that you are from Holland and I dont know how good your spoken English is, so, if you would prefer, I can ring them tomorrow and ask and report back?

If you would do that for me I'd be much obliged shakey, thank you!
I'd could just send him an email, but I have no clue how busy he is, in other words, whether or not he has time to answer email...
Also, I'm working night shifts all week long, so I wouldn't be able to call at appropriate hours anyway

No problem at all! Just looking around for parts at the moment, so won't be needing it this week anyway

I've jot spoken to a very helpful guy at Sandy Bike Spares who has informed me that the reason the later system will not fit on a Gen 1 bike is that:

1/ The downpipe to cylinder head joint along with the collars is bigger on the later models and will not fit earlier ones.

2/ The rear collector box mount (where it mounts to the frame) is in a different place.

He also explained that they get asked this question every week and so are considering developung a twin stainlesss system for the Gen 1 within the next year or so.

He was very definate that the later system will NOT fit the earlier bike. He told me that several customers had bought them in the past and had to return them.

He did say that if you have a later engine in an earlier frame, the twin system would fit but you would still need to modify the rear mount on the collector box.

Hope that helps.
