So, I was out riding today and my bike started to make a funny noise. Basically, when I engauge the clutch, it sounds like a washing machine with a shoe or something in it. It has a smacking sound inconsistant with the RPM's, but consistant, I think with the chain? It doesn't do it when the clutch level is pulled in.

I recently replaced the clutch, perhaps something went wrong?

 

Does the clutch feel "soggy" - soft? any vibration ?
May be clutch springs are pulling the pates offline.....
any shudder ?

Hard to tell - never ridden a washing machine....(did try a Harley - once)[X(]
but it sounds like clutch to me.....

 

The clutch feels exactly the same. Pretty stiff and responsive. It doesn't give under hard acceleration at all and otherwise feels like nothing is going wrong at all. But I heard that noise and it frightened me.

I rode it to work last night and home again this morning. It did not make the noise at all this morning.

 

Check your front wheel bearings... i had the samesound and i thought it was the motor at first...
