Question vfr bars

hi all,
i read somewhere on this forum about fitting higher handlebars on 1kf.
i think they used a set from a Honda vfr.
can anyone say which year/model would be suitable?
thanks.

Ranchome just sold a set of VFR750 1982 bars on this site. So, I'm guessing they fit!

A number of members have done the change and I believe there's a small modification to be done - but very minor.

Do a search on "VFR Bars" on the forum and see what comes up.

Cheers, SB

Read this thread Boru,

I have no idea - I'm sorry - if the VFR 800 bars will fit.

Cheers, SB

i was lookin vfr750 bars for the 99F i had, 40mm from memory
and now the bird is 42mm i'm told is vfr 800(non vtec)
i'm more concerned about the cabling, the cables out of clips and re-routed were creaking and too tight for my liking on the 'f', so they got put back to normal

besides that,, we don't like 're-routing' in northern ireland.

If you want to raise without mods you can use the GenMar bar risers, worked a treat for me and only a couple of minutes to fit but only give about 20mm rise

He "Ranchome" got them from me originally and they were not 82's they were 92's if I remember correctly

82's > 89 were 39mm later 90 > 96 ones 41mm - needed for CBR 1KF's

Dan Moto has bars that work with some customization, then there's woodcraft @ $$$$$$$
amongst others - I have a set of high rise custom SV 650 bars in the garage I'm going to try out
soon

Genmars generally retain the dropped angle of oem bars - most other solutions
alleviate that wrist angle depending on how they are installed - helps on long
runs when your wrists are more inline and lateral with the bars themselves.
Takes the stress off the outside of your wrist. Just a personal observation from
doing quite a few of these

I put a pair of vfr bars on my 96, they were 41mm I think,
You have to remove the indexing tab but other than that fit fine. I also raised my 3/4" on the fork tube. no issues with cables or lines. Been using about a year, no issues, still rock solid.
