RE: raising handlebars
There are a number of ways you can raise the bars on a Hurricane - some guys buy bars from the old VFR750, which are about 1' higher, some use 'helibars' and some use others, name escapes me for the moment.....Italian made, as I recall....Tomaselli ?
There have been a number of posts on this issue - look up 'bar risers' and see if it helps you.
I wouldn't recommend removing the safety pins, although some guys have done it.

Hope this helps

RE: raising handlebars
I'm sure there are guys who've done this mod who are much better qualified to comment, but if you take the size of the fork tube (stanchion) and compare it to the tube sizes on other bikes, you'll see what will fit.The early models had a 41mm tube I THINK, later ones 89 onwards were 42mm. Pacojoseph's done a mod, nice too, and so have a few others. You can look up www.mrcycles.com and insert whatever bike forks you want to check, bars etc, and it'll tell you part numbers and , I think, sizes. Look up Genmar bar risers - they make a lifting kit......
And a belated Halloween to you, too.......
