Default Raising the handlebars question

I just need to know if anyone is using the Helibars, the Convertibars, or the Gilles Variobars and risers?

I don't have a track close by so I am only street riding my 2004 CBR1000RR4 and want to make it more comfortable for the majority of my personal riding.

Therefore I want to raise theClip-ons some. I have some time too because I have to save my money for a couple of things anyway.

Do the Helibars 1 3/4" up and 1" closer to you really make enough of a difference?

Or would I be better off spending the $480 for the Convertibars and get the 3" up and 2" closer? Just not sure of all the cable changes and longer horn wiring and other stuff I would have to do.

The Variobars I am not sure of since you have an adjustable bar plus a separate riser adjustment which costover $500.

What is the present angle of the stock clip-ons? Would changing them to 4 degree or less bring them up enough to notice any difference in riding.

Thanks

Does anyone else sell the Helibars beside Heli Modified?

Just something for future record. Cycle Cat also sells a raised clip-on. It is $485 though so its not cheap.

Using a combination of helibars andthe '06 OEM seatwillmake your bikemuch more comfortable and is worth every penny if you ride it for more than 15 minutes at a time.

I just got the helibars installed on my 07' and love it. Even the small adjustement makes a ton of difference for comfort.

I also just put on the Sargent seat, like 30 minutes ago... That should make it just right.

I was planning on the Sargent seat too. I was on a Corbin and it was as hard as a rock so I need something softer. If I wanted something that hard I would have left the stock seat on the bike.
I have seen the Sargent seat for $269.99(Carbon fx with silver piping and rear seat cover to match) plus $25 shipping at exoticsportbike.com. What did you pay for yours?

I paid $310 but I also got the rear seat cover - which was probably a waste of money since I'm not using the rear seat now.. I also looked at the corbin but heard better things about the Sargent. The seat looks perfect on the bike!

Bought my Heli Bars off of Ebay (MXSOUTH) for $294, total. I've had them about 11/2 months and 2000 miles. There may have been some improvement in comfort, and there is some radial adjustability but generally I'm disappointed w/investment of cash and time to install ( took most of day). Hands still go numb and minor neck soreness continues. Modification of riding style, obtained off this forum, including reducing hand pressure on handles and using inner thighs to support upper body made much more difference in comfort.
I don't like the idea of modifying an already great bike with aftermarket parts especially ones that do little or nothing with regards to improvement, and cost MONEY . I would not install Heli Bars if I had to do it again.

Hi, Iput the Heli-bars and a Sargent custom seat on my 07 CBR1000RR and both make the bike more comfortable to ride. I don't ride the track also and strictly ride the street.
