Question Vance and Hines Question

Hi I recently purchased a 1994 CBR1000f with a V&H SS2R exhaust but it is missing the baffles. Since I'm not the original purchaser of the exhaust system I have no idea which version of the baffles to buy. Would anyone know how to tell whether I have the 96 and earlier version or the 97 later version? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Jordan

I would suggest you call V&H to verify interchangeable years....are you able to locate any model number marking on pipe? That would
Help....

I emailed V&H earlier this week and they said that there aren't any identification numbers on the pipes. Perhaps the difference is the length of the can or the diameter of the inlet into the can?

I was always under the impression the SS2R's were straight through pipes by design
from factory with no baffles - you can see right through end to end

If they are old and used and way too noisy you could do 2 things

Repack the fiberglass and or buy universal baffle inserts

Well I decided to go ahead and purchase one of 96 and earlier(race) and 97 and later (medium) versions. The difference between the two is the older version is the about length of the can, the newer version is close to 4/5 the length of the can.
Hopefully my trial and error will help someone else find what they need. Thanks again for the input estate4life and Sprock.
