upside-down fork transplantation

upside-down fork transplantation
I know.. ..someone might say it's sick
But my question is: Has anybody done it? I mean throwing away original front fork from SC24 (1990), and replacing it with upside down? If so, which upside down fork you used, to avoid serious frame modifications? (from which motorcycle). I read about transplantation from SP1 to CBR1100XX - it looked great!
Next step - which front fork I shall use to apply radial calipers?
Aaaand what kind of radial brake pump you recommend? Once I had steel brake hoses, but original pump start to leak after few hard stops. So I came back to rubber hoses.
Why to do all that? Coz I'm sick
ps. If these subjects were discussed already - just direct me with link. Thx.

RE: upside-down fork transplantation
People have done conversions using GSX1100R forks from the 90's. The problem is that they are not suited for the frame. Your whole forks, frame, rear shock combo is designed as a single unit, messing with that will mess up the flex point. Also as the headstem is not designed for forks that stiff. At the very least the frame flex point will be changed and will flex in places where it is not supposed to. At the very worst the frame will crack.
There are plenty of RWU forks on the market that have full compression/rebound/preload adjustment.
FItting a fork brace will also help.

RE: sprocket
..if you wish to keep it clean (at least for a while), then use a wheel rim cleaner (such like you use for a car) - but it have to be chemically neutral - DO NOT USE rim cleaners acid based, coz they'll just dissolve your o-rings. Spray it allover, wait 15 minutes, clean with sponge, and repeat 3 - 4 times. For winter time you may also clean whole chain this way.
Method checked since last few years he
Trips - thanks for advise - I guess I'll stick to traditional suspension.
