There are a few special sealants out there that can be used - (I've done this to two
sets of existing carbs) no silicone based sealants can be used - let me research more
what's available in the UK market for ya.

Either way though the carbs has to come out and the bowls separated

Thanks Sprock.
Petrol smell didn't seem to be as bad tonight but exhaust smell was rather pungent. Haven't had a chance to inspect carbs.
Third return trip this week (after starter clutch repair), but using a bit more fuel than usual, about 30mpg, used to get 33mpg (aggressive London riding!). Could be carbs out of sync but all I did was spray some Wurth air intake cleaner through them.
Wheelnut's link to carb specailists in Manchester might be the way to go.

CCT extremely rattly now, but occasionally, when engine is really hot (just before fan cuts in), the rattle disappears completely.

Still, great to be back on the bike!!!!
