Themechanic I usedoesn't charge me for fitting if the tyres are bought there. I checked around and the tyre prices are good too.

It is the same here if one buy the tyres at a local shop, the mounting is included, but the total price is then almost double compared to buying via the Internet. The shops are well aware of this, and the price at local shops is at least less than it was a few years ago. When I was to change tyres on my Volvo S60 T5 Turbo a few years ago, the price for new stock tyres (Continental Premium Contact WR 215/55/16)was the same at all shops here, almost$2000 [&:]. I thought they gave a wrong price figure, but couldn't get a better deal anywhere around which felt absurd. Exactly the same tyres costed less than half at that time via the Internet, which I also felt was quite expensive since the tyres are not exotic. Today the price for these tyres is almost the same at local shops as on webb companies, but they haven’t yetfollowed on bike tyres.

I save a lot of $ by pulling the wheels off the bike and dropping them off at the shop and picking them up the next day.
