Default Track day

I have my tire pressures set to 36F/42R. Riding around today I thought I could feel the rear sliding just a little under moderate throttle exiting curves. I have a track day/Buell demo day coming up and I'm wondering what tire pressures I should run. I know some of you have done track days Do you have any thoughts/recommendations? This will be my first time on a race track in 22 years of riding.

I would reduce your pressures by 3 to 5 psi or so for the track day - gives better grip, but not good for tyre life on the road !

I run 40 40 at the track if thay are to low thay will over heat then you will slide. I am doing a track day on the 22 November at QR. QR is hard on tyres and brakes, on the throttle oron the brakes.

Strange - I was talking to the SA superbike champion, and he advised me to drop the pressures....ah well, different strokes, eh ?

The main reason for dropping the pressure at a track, is that the increased tyre temperature will increase the tyre pressure, even over what's recommended for the tyre for best grip. You know, hot air expands... That's also why the manual says to check tyre pressure at cold tyre.
