Tips for removing air cleaner housing, please!

I believe that would be a solid idea. I did get the carb bank out by (gently) prying it away from the manifold. I just left the damn air cleaner housing in the bike. Although, just to make me happy, I may take it out and kick it across the garage, per prior instructions. Your visit will still be productive as I'm sure the carbs will be in pieces, submerged in my puddle of tears.
Must be a bad month for vehicles.....I just dropped $1200 into my truck this morning and there's still a bit left to go. Like the old saying goes...."If it's got **** or tires, it's gonna cost you"......

I took the carbs out in one piece with out removing the air cleaner, so I can't see why you would remove it!!

On most bikes the air box is slotted so that they can be pushed back away from the carbs before rotating them down.

Actually, that's how I do them. I loosen the carbs at the engine and air box and rotate the back of the carbs down and pull them out to the left. I have not done them on one of these bikes yet. Reverse going back in. Slide them in and rotate them up.
