well if yours comes out in pieces, i can send you mine. i have zero intentions on putting it back in. it just sounds too cool when the floats open up when heavy into the throttle.

I believe that would be a solid idea. I did get the carb bank out by (gently) prying it away from the manifold. I just left the damn air cleaner housing in the bike. Although, just to make me happy, I may take it out and kick it across the garage, per prior instructions. Your visit will still be productive as I'm sure the carbs will be in pieces, submerged in my puddle of tears.

Must be a bad month for vehicles.....I just dropped $1200 into my truck this morning and there's still a bit left to go. Like the old saying goes...."If it's got **** or tires, it's gonna cost you"......

I am trying to get the carb bank out so I can clean the floats (as posted in a previous thread). However, in order to remove the carb bank I need to get the air cleaner housing out. ....
I took the carbs out in one piece with out removing the air cleaner, so I can't see why you would remove it!!

Actually, that's how I do them. I loosen the carbs at the engine and air box and rotate the back of the carbs down and pull them out to the left. I have not done them on one of these bikes yet. Reverse going back in. Slide them in and rotate them up.

On most bikes the air box is slotted so that they can be pushed back away from the carbs before rotating them down.

Yep, that's pretty much it. It's not bad on these bikes. Easy compared to many others.
