stutter after warm start
Hi,
I bought a 95 cbr 1000 in may. I brought it to a honda shop and had them go through it and they cleaned the carbs and synced them, changed oil+plugs, and did some other minor things. The bike has been running great...
This past weekend, after riding for a hour I parked the bike for 15 minutes and then started it back up. It started no problem with no choke as usual. But when I put it in gear and gave it gas, it stuttered and just wouldnt go. I let it sit idling for a couple of minutes and tried again and everything was fine. This happened a couple of times this weekend and has never happened before. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Ow no !, not the bloody miracle Seafoam again !!!! the stuff can even solve marriage problems too I have heard .... J/K
I go with a temp venting issue myself ... " goes fine , then stops , then wont go ? then does go ....?? hmmm did you take the hand brake off first ??lol
Ok, ok , no more torture ! ..lol ..
... I go with Pete and my first response ....
BTW , how hot was the engine getting prior to stopping and how hot was she after being stopped for a few minutes ? ? could be a bit of vapor locking going on if the weather was real real warm where you are ......

Hi,
This was my second tank of gas (in a row) where I added seafoam to the gas. I used 1 oz per gallon. Ive been using the good (92-93 octane) gas too. The tank was about empty when I noticed this issue. The engine was pretty hot when I stopped and it had been pretty hot this past weekend. I will see how it runs this coming weekend.

I didnt have the problem this weekend. The conditions were not exactly the same but everything seemed ok. I went down a tooth to 16T on the front sprocket. I cant say I notice a huge difference but I can tell the gearing is a little different. I havent popped any wheelies or anything while switching gears or while getting on it in first.....

I've had a similar issue for a while now.
It only does it after sitting for an hour + in 90 degree heat.... in the sun. It will start and idle fine, but will die under load like it's losing fuel (usually about 150ft down the road ...lol)
Doesn't matter if I pop the fuel cap to release vacuum, either.
I have no idea what it is, but it pisses me off. Prolly does it 3 times a year in the summer. If anyone figures it out, I'd love to know.

kilgoretrout,
Thats about the right conditions for mine to do it. It was 90+ and I had ridden the bike for a time before parking it for a little bit. The problem seems to clear up after a longer idle. I didnt know it was happening until I was trying to pull out of my driveway. Luckily there were no cars coming.
