Have you downloaded the workshop manual for your model? You can find it in 'Workshop Manuals' they are very helpful. Also, this section is for showing How to do jobs not for asking how to be done. I am sure a moderator will see this and put it in the right section so you can get more answers to your prob.

Sometimes it helps to look at the microfiche to see what you are up against.

mains have to come out. and if i wqere you i would order new main bolts for when it goes back together. and even with the mains out, i still had to gently use a prybar to start the split

I've split mine several times & never used a pry bar. The cases are metal to metal with only a small amount of sealer between. From memory there are a couple of places to use a bar but be very careful. Also a good way to remove the sealer once apart is not to scrape the faces but use a suade brush. It's a fine brass brush used for suade clothes. Should be able to pick one up from the boot maker/repairer.

only time i had to use a bar was the first time splitting it, the second time with my f4i came right off, and i just opened an 09 600rr that was a PAIN in the behind to come apart
