Is the tach some how connected to the speedo? Cause my tach is running 1-2k higher than it should. At idle it is at 2k and while riding it get up to 9k in 6th but im not doing more than 80mph.(following traffic). Im at a loss on this one, on a side note she is running good(still gotta sync them carbs though).

Separate things, the speedo is mechanical driven and the tach is electrical.

Problem with the speedo can be:
1-cable
2-the cursed little plastic part under the clutch cover
3-the unit itself

You may have the same issue with the tach that horse_power777 has.
