If you mount the U brackets to your side frame of the back box of your Shad system you should end up with a similar system. These are 3x48Litres - hold a ton of stuff !
I've seen those panniers for £120+ on ebay; out of budget, unfortunately.

Nice set-up though

Bleh.

Lost a bid today. Bad times.

But then some more turned up. Good times.

My son is here on July 6th; I'd better get busy with the camping booking..

I let the panniers go at £100; my rival bidder seemed to have bottomless bidding power.

So, I looked at soft luggage.

Ortlieb do a set, with harder side panels to bungee to racks, for £160 new.

So do Wolfman.

The advantage of these is I can move them bike-to-bike; the disadvantage is that £150 kinda crimps the whole point of budget-touring/camping.

So, I'm just throwing this out; is there any UK member who is willing, for a night of free beer and a curry, to help me buy mounts etc and help me bodge my Givi bags on?

Or even pop round and give me some advice, for a kebab?

cheers, Ray

I bought some large(ish) soft panniers on ebay; I will Velcro and cable-tie them to the side rack.

With the saving over used hard luggage, I've booked a week of camping in the Lakes in July.

My 14-year old son will be riding pillion.

It all comes good in the end.

And I'll put my Givi bags on ebay (or here).
