Default Shad..

My '93 has a Shad wing-rack and top box.

Will Givi/Kappa boxes fit? Or do I need I need Shad branded panniers?

I asked at my local shop and they didn't know.

cheers.

Maletas y Accesorios para tu moto - Shad - Freedom to move
Maybe ask them.
Looking at the rack it should be a simple matter to mount Nonfango panniers (which is what I have) to the Shad rack, if you have the U shaped brackets.
As for Kappa/Givi - not sure.

If the pic is accurate

The Nonfango boxes will fit.

Looks like these come with mounting plates

35 quid ? Gift !
Best advice would be to find someone with the luggage you like and see if they will fit on your back box mounting plate - if so the chances are the panniers will fit on your bike with the correct brackets.

Not without adapters - cheapest way to go is to slap a universal Givi Monokey Mount
plate on it - using a good drill and a make it fit/mount attitude

Thanks folks; looks like I'll keep an eye on ebay for shad or nonfango.

You can new shad panniers but £330 is way out of budget.

Just to be clear; nonfango will fit the Shad rack? Or certain pannier models?

I ask because there is some well priced 30L nonfango panniers on ebay and I don't want to buy them and have to re-list!!

Yes I'd say so BUT YOU MUST BUY THE MOUNTING PLATES that the boxes attach to - U shaped things. If you need pics let me know.
The U shaped brackets should mount to the Shad "frame" - you may have to drill a couple of holes but I had to do that anyway on my set which is designed for the 1000F.

Thanks Shadow; are the brackets still available, or is it another lurk on ebay job?

NONFANGO PANNIER RAILS EARLY TYPE SOO1 U BRACKETS SIDE KIT | eBay

14 quid on e-Bay !
All earlier nonfango boxes fit these as far as I know.

here's a whole page of Nonfango stuff - every bit as good as Givi and a much neater fitting arrangement.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40

There's a whole set for 120 quid with frames the lot - same page
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nonfango-X...item2c6ecb7d0f
- almost identical to mine. I've had mine for 8 years now and they can carry a LOAD of stuff and don't affect the stability too much. I've had mine loaded at 100MPH with pillion on the motorway and didn't even know they were there.

Shadow, that's great, many thanks

I just need the panniers and rails as I have the wing-rack and a shad topbox; I'll certainly buy the side rails if I win the pannier auction (or maybe even if I don't).

Here's hoping I can get a full set-up so I can take my son camping in July (he's been pillion on the 1000F twice and loved it).

Here's a couple of pics of my bike with boxes mounted and without - note the rail to mount the U brackets is very inconspicuous, unlike the Givi system.
If you mount the U brackets to your side frame of the back box of your Shad system you should end up with a similar system. These are 3x48Litres - hold a ton of stuff !
