Marvel mystery oil
I think that is as far as we should take it lol

And yes about 100 miles before i do an oil change i'll add 2-3 cap fulls into my crank case whether it be bike or car. No harm on the friction pads and i use OEM plates. Though i do have to admit synthetic just seems to work better for those cold mornings.

Wouldn't the detergent be a good thing after a fresh rebuild? My logic tells me it serves it place in certain circumstances. .02 to add to the fire on my 954rr specifies 10w40 but to tell a t6 only sells 5w40 Locally. Will it heart.

Depends on what the temp of the environment your riding in. if you live up in Canada you'd probably get away with it. i would stick to the 10w40 just order it online.

Cool

Please forget everything your mechanic has said and your sister boyfriend's cousin too.
This is the most informative complete oil site you will ever read.
Simple facts backed by oil analysis and what not.
Don't add anything to dilute your oil, just do more frequent oil changes to keep your engines inside clean, if you must.
You will lose a lot of money, but you won't lose your engine due to poor lubrication and/or diluted viscosity.

No - detergents aren't necessarily good after a rebuild. Flushing the oil in shorter intervals is good though after a rebuild. After a rebuild, you're more likely to have small pieces of metal getting into the oil from the break-in of the engine. Detergents won't help that. Flushing the engine with fresh oil will though.

And as far as the 5w40 vs 10w40, there's absolutely NO difference once the engine is warm. They're both 40 weight oils.

The only difference is on start up. And since 5 weight is thinner, it's easier to push through the pump when starting up, meaning your parts are lubed quicker.

I've never seen T6 in anything but 5w40. It's good stuff. It's all I use.

Hmm rotella comes in 3-4 flavor a over here.

Btw I add additives to nudge/move/thin the oil to get (if any) the sludge or oil that is sticking to the walls. Hence before not after..
Even a hot oil change leaves stuff, I also tend to stick an air hose in to push out as much as i can too.
